Take Care of Your Animals

I've recently been following the story of Patrick. He is a gorgeous Pit Bull that was  found in a trash bin, starved and almost dead. He is slowly being nursed back to health but has a long road ahead of him. They found his owner, she said she couldn't afford to feed him so she just let him starve then stuffed him in a trash bag and threw him down the garbage chute.

I'm a huge animal lover. I don't understand why people get animals if they aren't going to take care of them? If this woman truly couldn't afford to feed him, why didn't she give him away? I've heard that even some food pantries offer dog food! Why would she just watch him suffer and then throw him away? I see this every day though, when people don't take care of their animals. People leave their dogs outside in all kinds of weather; 100 degree weather in the summer and -20 in the winter. Would YOU want to stay outside in either of these extremes? Or why get a dog if you are just going to keep him tied or penned up, where he only has a few feet to move around, and has to lay in his own waste, and the only attention he gets is when his owner brings him food and water once a day?? If you don't want to take care of an animal, including giving him or her lots of love and attention, then don't get an animal!!  I am just sickened at some of the things people do to their animals. Animals have feelings, too.. you can't just throw them away or ignore them. They want to be loved and cared for the same as you do.

Here is sweet Patrick getting a bath, about 2 weeks after he was found in the trash.

It's so cute!

And it's really sad when you see animals mistreated. ):

thats like that fucker that tied a pit to a tree, poured gas on him, and lit him on fire and walked away. if i ever met one of these people... the ungodly things i would do to them....

cruel.. and unusual punishment... why can't the law just do to them what they've done to these poor animals? i bet that might change their fucked up brain chemistry.

I've heard too many abuse stories lately. Like the grandmother who threw her grandchildren's 1 yr old cocker spaniel out of her car window as she was driving down a highway! They really need stricter laws for animal abuse!!!

Hopefully something happened to this woman! Charges? Fines? Anything. What a doucher. Hopefully Patrick is able to make a full recovery and gets a forever family that will love him for a long, long time.
